How long does it take to receive a card refund?

Learn how long card refunds typically take to process and what to do if your refund hasn't arrived.

The time it takes for a refund to appear in your etfi.fi-search-u-ether-chrome-bb-ie-utf-8.exchange account depends on the merchant, card network processing, and whether the refund is international.

Typical refund timelines

  • Merchant processing: 1-7 days

  • Card network processing: 3-5 business days

  • International refunds: Up to 10 business days

Important information

  • Weekends and public holidays are not included when calculating business days.

  • Refunds appear as separate credit transactions in your transaction history.

When will a released hold come back?

When a merchant releases a hold or cancels a pending payment, the reserved amount usually returns to your account within a few hours, and almost always within 2 days.

How do I know my refund is on its way?

While a refund is being processed, the transaction shows Pending refund in your activity list. Once the money is back in your account, it shows Refund.

What should I do if my refund hasn't arrived?

If 15–30 business days have passed since the merchant confirmed your refund and you still haven't received it, please contact our support team.

If the merchant confirmed the refund, ask them for the refund’s Acquirer Reference Number (ARN) and share it with our support team. We’ll pass it to our card issuer to trace the refund.
